A car handles Alberta winters better than people expect
With proper winter tyres, a front-wheel-drive car is capable in most Calgary conditions. The tyres do far more work than the drivetrain.
Smaller payment, more room in the budget
If the goal is to rebuild credit or keep payments manageable, a well-kept car is usually the faster route than stretching for an SUV.
Check the service history over the odometer
A car with records and regular oil changes at 140,000 km is a safer buy than one with no history at 90,000.
